As I was reminiscing the moments that I have in Kamp Pag-asa or the Camp of Hope 2009 I’ve come to think about the number of teachers who served and volunteered themselves for the said activity. The delegates are usually nurses, physical therapy students, social workers and Special Education or SpEd teachers.I’ve met a huge number of teachers in the camp.It was nice to know that we came from a common university!
Of all the volunteers, I saw how these teachers shoulder the activities.I felt their sincerity and dedication in helping the kids with different disabilities. With our programs, I was able to witness the talents and unique strategies employed by them which are definitely helpful to the needs of those children! If there’s anything that I can offer to them I’d be willing to give them credit cards in which they can get what they want! They deserve to have it!
We had a night when volunteers had to do a story telling.I’m already old to hear those kiddie stories yet I was still entertained.Through this short time bonding with the kids I was able to utter these words “These people are really educators and facilitators”.

A co-member in Kamp Pag-asa created a social network exclusively for the volunteers of the previous camps. The site was so fresh so it hasn’t got a well-designed template. He is still working on it and we are still inviting our fellow volunteers to participate. The said site is the same with Friendster,Hi5,Facebook,Myspace,Tagged and the likes. The best thing in here is that all the members can relate to each other since we were all able to join the camp/camps.Regardless of batches I know we can come up with a good result by creating blogs and forums.
Now that Kamp Pag-asa 2009 is coming, it’s a way to give our suggestions, propose some great ideas and mingle with other KP members. Each one of us can upload our photos that were taken during and after the camp.I’ve done editing my profile but it’s still tentative.I also added pictures of my group mates of last year’s camp.
Search my blog to more about Kamp Pag-asa. If you were able to participate the camp you’re free to join.Let’s help the organization grow by giving feedback and posting relevant issues relating to KP and its activities. For the information of other people Kamp Pag-asa (KP) is a national organization.
Leave a comment if you’re interested to join us.

Kamp Pag-asa or KP came first in Davao City in the year 2000. It’s a project of the Davao City council for the Welfare of Children with Disabilities. This camp is also called Pedya Camp ( from the word pediatrics).I guess they only accepting campers the age of below 18. This kind of camp originated in foreign country in 1968 and was brought in the country by scholars and dedicated individuals. They are the kind of people who care about the children who don’t belong to the normal ones.

Tomorrow
will be the start of our camp. I just finished fixing my things. I already have the things that I have to bring. They’re all packed. I wanna enjoy it and of course learn new things in there.
I might be surprised of other things that are unusual for me. I have to adjust myself to really enjoy it. I will take photos of our activities to share it with you. Expect me to say something about it when I get back. I will be describing what kind of camp did we have and the good people that I met.
