If there’s one word that I would use to define my student I’ll describe her as a fastidious learner. She’s so hard to please! She can’t ask for everything from us (her teachers) though. For three months that I was teaching her Grammar and Reading I slowly found out how she deals with her fellow students, her mom and even to her brother. She’s envious with everybody and and everything. In fact, she cried once because she thought that we don’t care about her.Of course it wasn’t true! We value all our students in English Academy. In addition, she likes to compare her level to others. If there’s somebody who has got something great she won’t stop doing anything just to have the same.
I had the chance to talk to her mom and I can feel how hard it was for her to control her daughter.I can sense that she was giving up on her. The parent revealed that her daughter has high and capricious standards on her own.I witness many times how demanding is she just to get what she wants;personally or academically. On her first week of study she kept on changing her schedule and teachers as well. At first we thought that something was wrong with some of our teachers but we proved it wrong. It was her who had a problem. She’s excessively overacting on something most specially when she finds that an error with a teacher.Like for instance,in pronunciation, spelling or grammar! That’s only her opinion and all of us had made some adjustments. We did it so that the learning process will not be affected by it.
She’s a smart little girl and when she left I gave her something.I wrote a letter too to remind her that intelligence alone can’t make the totality of a person.I stressed that she has to obey and respect her mom too.I was happy to know that our head teacher gave her mom a book to help her in managing her scornful daughter.

Yesterday I taught a student in the afternoon. Her teacher wasn’t around so our head teacher asked me to teach him since it was my vacant time. The first hour went fine but after a while he started acting bad. He’s no longer listening to me! I didn’t expect it because we had a good time in the beginning. We had a review with his Filipino lesson and I gave him a quiz. We were having our vocabulary when he kept on going out. He stayed in the comfort room for a long time. When he got back he didn’t stop talking. He was sharing many things about anything under the heat of the sun!I let him do so because I thought that he might be tired and he wanted to have a break. He pissed me off when he uttered bad words to me.I didn’t yell at him.I told him that it isn’t good and he kept on saying it.I excused myself and talk to our head teacher. She said to me that he’s really like that to all teachers. He does messy things too to his teachers according to my fellow mentor.
This afternoon I was there when he came in.He was with his mother. His mother and our head teacher had talked already. Then his mother is telling him to say sorry to me.At first he didn’t want to say so but when his mom grabbed a stick and was about to hit him, he started crying and said these words: ” I’ll say sorry to teacher Jasmine in our room not here.” We were at the office during that time.
In our room.I didn’t say a word. I stood there for 10 minutes. I asked him if there’s anything that he wanna tell me because if not I’m leaving. Then he stopped me and said sorry. He has got teary eyes the moment I started talking to him.I told him that he shouldn’t do it to any teachers in any schools and to anybody else. He’s lucky that I didn’t do anything bad againts him yesterday when he uttered those words.I admit that I was irritated but it’s a good thing that I was able to hold my temper and stay calm. We’re ok now.
